His parents bought him his very first camera when he was 10 years old. It was a Kodak 110 which he cherished. In his teens, his focus became wildlife photography. He spent many hours in the National Wildlife Parks of Sri Lanka, studying and photographing the best of the wild. After coming to California in 1996, he began shooting portraits & working in photo digital imaging, which led to digital photography. With over 12 years of photography & digital imaging experience, Chari specializes in digital photography that ranges from people, to products, to places. He continues to study photographic theory and uses the latest equipment to stay firmly in touch with all the new developments. Chari Godakanda is available for in studio and location shooting throughout the United States. He holds fast to the belief that every task deserves his full attention. |

We are a Palm Springs California based photography company offering all styles o fphotography. I started my photography interest in the mid 80s in Anahiem California.I learned from the basics. My first camera was a coffee can before I upgraded to my first 35mm SLR Canon AE1. I developed and printed all my images by hand. Things have really changed but the same fundamentals are in play, posing and lighting . In the mid 90s I moved to Hawaii where I managed a photographic company and learned more from some great portrait photographers. I shot 35mm and 120 medium format cameras. I remember my first digital camera I was amazed ,however not impressed with the quality. The late 90s things really changed and the quality of digital became outstanding and I moved into the digital forum. In 2002 I married my beautiful wife and we started our new life and business in Palm Springs California. We love it here and work together on our every growing business. We are now a Palm Springs based photography business catering to all of southern California. | |
